Neve proudly unveils the 1073DPX-D, a powerful evolution of the top-selling 1073DPX. Combining two complete 1073 channel strips with a premium 10-in/12-out USB/ADAT audio interface, the 1073DPX-D brings the unmistakable character of the world’s most famous microphone preamp directly into modern DAW-based production. Designed and hand-built in England, it offers a fully discrete class-A signal path, transformer-coupled tone shaping, inductor EQ, and seamless digital integration, all within a robust 2U rackmount chassis.
With dual mono and stereo tracking, digital re-amping, hardware insert capability, advanced monitoring, and scalable ADAT expansion, the 1073DPX-D is engineered to become the centrepiece of professional, project, and mobile studios alike.
10×12 USB/ADAT Interface: A Studio Hub in a Single Unit
With ten inputs and twelve outputs, the 1073DPX-D becomes the central connection point for your entire studio. Its dual analogue signal paths handle mic, line, and DI sources, while ADAT expansion allows for larger multi-mic sessions. Four analogue outputs support monitoring and outboard routing, and eight ADAT outputs provide multi-channel playback. Whether tracking at home or building a full hybrid rig, the 1073DPX-D scales effortlessly and integrates seamlessly with units such as the 1073OPX or a second 1073DPX-D.
Plug-In and Record, Anywhere
Requiring no drivers, the 1073DPX-D connects instantly to macOS and Windows. A single USB cable provides full bidirectional 10×12 audio routing, direct access to both 1073 channels, and digital return paths for monitoring and inserts. This simplicity makes it ideal for studio, live, and mobile recording environments where reliability and speed matter.
Flexible ADAT Expansion Modes
The 1073DPX-D offers two ADAT operating modes. In USB/ADAT Hub Mode, it acts as the central interface, expanding effortlessly with additional Neve preamps or external converters. In ADAT Audio Expander Mode, it becomes a dedicated analogue front end for an existing interface, delivering full 1073 preamp, EQ, and conversion over a single optical cable. This flexibility ensures compatibility with virtually any production setup.
Legendary 1073 Gain Structure and Inductor EQ
A stepped 5 dB Elma switch ensures accurate gain recall, while automatic input-stage selection and three transistor-based gain stages provide clean headroom or musical saturation across mic, line, and DI sources. The inductor EQ offers three musical bands with carefully chosen frequencies, smooth ±16 dB shelves, ±18 dB mid peaking, and a selectable high-pass filter, delivering bold, musical tone shaping on any source.
Flexible Analogue I/O for Real Studio Integration
Front and rear mic/line inputs, front DI access, pre/post EQ insert loops, switchable phantom power, impedance, pad, and phase, plus dedicated output faders feeding balanced XLR outputs, make the 1073DPX-D suitable for everything from vocal tracking and stereo recording to reamping, live production, and broadcast work.
