DPA d:dicate™ 2011A Twin Diaphragm Cardioid Mic
The DPA d:dicate 2011A is a twin diaphragm cardioid condenser microphone. Sharing much of the same technology and design ethos from the 4000 series, DPA’s flagship mic line, the 2011A offers similar performance for an affordable price.
The capsule design features two opposite facing diaphragms, which are rebuilt into a single capsule composition. This means the mic has the advantages of a small capsule, with a fast impulse response and a large frequency bandwidth, but has lower inherent noise thanks to its larger overall diaphragm surface area. The 2011 offers linear response at off axis positions, meaning a better gain to feedback ratio and making stage separation and mic level easier to control.
The mic is also of a modular design, meaning it’s easy to swap out the capsule to change the pick-up pattern.
