The Gainlab Audio Empress is a dual 3-band Tube equalizer that builds on the classic concept of passive EQs, with additional features to suit the requirements of modern music production.
The Empress by Gainlab has two channels, each offering stepped low, mid and high frequencies to choose from. Each frequency selection can be attenuated and boosted at the same time, offering the same functionality as in classic designs. Additionally, the Empress EQ has a frequency selectable mid-range boost/cut making the EQ far more versatile. The 'high' section provides the ability to choose between shelving cuts and boosts, or bell curve for more fine tuned EQ moves. The gain stage is tube based, using military-grade vacuum tubes, proving the rich harmonics and tonal character that passive tube EQ's are known for.
