DPA ST2011C - d:dicate 2011C Pair

The DPA d:dicate ST2011C Stereo Pair is a twin diaphragm, compact, cardioid condenser microphone set. Sharing much of the same tech and components from the 4000 series, DPA’s flagship condenser mic line, the 2011C offers similar performance at an affordable price.

The capsule design contains two, opposite facing diaphragms, which are rebuilt into a single capsule. This means the mic has the advantages of a small capsule, with a fast impulse response and a large frequency bandwidth, but has lower inherent noise thanks to its larger overall diaphragm surface area. The 2011C contains an MMP-C pre-amplifier that subtly adds a little more “body” to the low end, and its compact size makes the mic much easier to position.

The 2011C offers linear response at off axis positions, meaning a better gain to feedback ratio and making stage separation and mic level easier to control. The mic is also of a modular design, meaning it’s easy to swap out the capsule to change the pick-up pattern. Each pairing is selected on sensitivity within ±1.5 dB making several stereo principles like XY and ORTF easy to obtain.
