The Mackie ONYX 1640 is a high-quality 16-channel, 4-bus analog mixer that elevates your mixing capabilities with its top-tier features. This mixer boasts 16 boutique-class Onyx mic preamps and a 4-band Perkins EQ with sweepable mids on mic/line channels, ensuring exceptional sound quality. It comes equipped with a 96kHz FireWire card, enabling the streaming of 18 independent audio channels directly to your computer.

Included with the Mackie ONYX 1640 are a FireWire card, power cable, and rack ears. This small-format analog mixer incorporates all-new circuitry, including six aux sends with pre/post switches, four stereo line-level inputs, and a comprehensive built-in talkback section for use with either internal or external mics. The mixer features true hardware EQ bypass and a globally compatible “Planet-Earth” switching power supply.

Each mic input has individual 48V phantom power switches, while 60mm logarithmic taper faders provide smooth, precise fades. Balanced direct outs are available for every channel via DB-25 connections, and the first two channels offer selectable instrument inputs, eliminating the need for DI boxes.

The mixer’s I/O can be configured in two setups: with connectors out the back or pointing downwards for rack mounting—both setups are shown in the accompanying photos.
