The OM enables the flexibility to position the microphone close enough to the player without being in the way.  When you add a Micro M2 orbital mic adaptor to the boom, it doesn't matter if you're using pencil condensers or heavy side-address ribbons, you'll get perfect mic placement every time. all of this is mounted on a T3 tall stand and can be positioned in front of the player without crowding them.
