The Bettermaker Mastering Equalizer is a 2U stereo mastering EQ with a fully analogue audio path and every control handled digitally, so a complex EQ setting can be saved, recalled and automated as easily as a plugin. It pairs four parametric bands with a passive-style low and high section, extended air bands and resonant filters, all driven from a 5-inch touchscreen on the front panel or from the Bettermaker plugin in your DAW.

Because the hardware remembers everything, you can move between songs in a mastering session, compare settings with A/B, and come back to a project weeks later with the EQ exactly as you left it. Stereo, dual mono and Mid/Side modes make it equally at home on a stereo bus, on stems or on finished masters.

Key Features:

• Analogue signal path, digital control:
  Audio never leaves the analogue domain. A 32-bit microcontroller looks after the filters, the screen, presets and USB.
• Four parametric bands:
  ±15dB per band with Q from 0.2 to 7. The lowest and highest bands switch between bell and shelf.
• Passive EQ section:
  Low boost and cut plus a high boost with 20kHz and 28kHz air settings for opening up the top end.
• Resonant high-pass and low-pass filters:
  HPF at 12 or 24dB/oct from 10Hz to 240Hz (down to 6Hz with resonance on), and a 12dB/oct LPF from 2kHz to 38kHz.
• Stereo, dual mono and Mid/Side:
  Treat the centre and sides separately, or set each channel independently.
• 399 named presets:
  Store settings on the unit, reset everything instantly and A/B two settings.
• 5-inch touchscreen:
  Shows a live EQ curve, peak/RMS meters and a real-time FFT analyser. Frequency Search, Gain Lock, Note and Auto-Q speed up setting each band.
• Full DAW recall:
  The Bettermaker plugin (macOS and Windows) automates and recalls every parameter over USB.
