Waves Abbey Road Reel ADT - Artificial Double Tracking Plugin
Waves Abbey Road Reel ADT - Artificial Double Tracking Plugin
Waves Abbey Road Reel ADT delivers the authentic tape-based Artificial Double Tracking effect created by Abbey Road technician Ken Townsend for John Lennon and The Beatles. Unlike simple doublers, the original ADT double moved ahead of and behind the source, and that constant fluctuation made the effect rich and rhythmically interesting.
Two modelled tape machines, one for the source and one for the double, each provide their own saturation, wow and flutter and pitch fluctuation, creating the impression of two distinct takes from a single performance. Tape speed can be controlled manually, by LFO, synced to the host or randomised, for anything from natural doubling to flanging and phasing.
- Abbey Road's complete double-tracking process
- Two modelled tape machines, source and double
- Separate saturation, wow and flutter and pitch drift
- Tape speed by hand, LFO, host sync or random
- Natural doubling through to flanging and phasing
- Designed with Abbey Road Studios
