The Alice 503 is a microphone pre-amp and limiter in a 500 series format. The circuitry of the pre-amp is designed to get full warmth from any professional microphone whilst also achieving that 'fairy dust sound'.

Both microphone and line level inputs maintain excellent overload margins as well as extreme low noise performance. The audio gain in the system is shared across four low-noise amplifier stages to handle the most difficult of sounds.

The limiter/compressor is a classic Ted Fletcher design from 1979 when it was first introduced into the Alice 828 portable mixer and is known to have gained admiration and is used by top artists and major studios just for the sound of the limiter!
