API 565 500 Series Filter Bank
The API 565 Filter Bank is a 500 Series module that brings the filters of API's 215 console module to the lunchbox. It combines a sweepable high-pass filter, a sweepable low-pass filter and a variable notch with adjustable Q, each with its own bypass switch.
The high-pass cleans up rumble, spill and muddy low end, and the low-pass tames harsh top or fizz. The twin-T notch, with a three-position range switch and Q from broad to surgical, can remove a ringing drum overtone, an amp resonance or mains hum without touching the rest of the signal. The 565 uses API's 2520 and 2510 op-amps, the same discrete transistor buffers as the 550 Series EQs, and a transformer-balanced output that clips at +28 dBu. It sits naturally in front of or after an API EQ or compressor.
