The Bettermaker Mastering Limiter 2.0 is the second generation of Bettermaker's analogue mastering limiter, adding a new limiting engine, a redesigned clipper with two independent stages and a reworked Colour section, all with full digital recall. The audio path is 100% analogue, while every setting is stored on the unit and controlled from its touchscreen or from the Bettermaker plugin.

You can blend limiting and clipping to taste, choose intelligent, manual or BPM-synced release, and shape the sidechain with a high-pass filter and mid boost so the limiter reacts to the parts of the mix that matter. Two Colour modules add odd or even harmonics through an M/S matrix, and extensive metering, including LUFS, makes it a complete final stage for a mastering chain.

  Up to 20dB of gain reduction, attack from 0.1 to 250ms and release from 2ms to 2s, plus intelligent release (IREL).
• Dual clipper:
  Two independent clipper stages with trim, and a variable mix between limiting and clipping.
• Colour section:
  Two saturation modules, one mainly odd and one mainly even harmonics, each with its own internal EQ, through a new M/S matrix.
• Smarter sidechain:
  High-pass filter from 20 to 200Hz and a mid boost at 2kHz or 7kHz.
• Flexible input/output link:
  Link mode compensates between input and output level, and automatic makeup gain has a trim control.
• Mid/Side and true bypass:
  M/S processing mode and relay-based true bypass.
• Comprehensive metering:
  VU, PPM, RMS, peak, LUFS and K-System meters, a 30-band FFT analyser, goniometer and correlation meter. You can measure at the hardware output or the plugin output.
• Total recall:
  Internal preset memory plus plugin control and automation over USB.
