Merging Technologies HAPI MKIII 8 Ch Line DA card

The Merging DA8V3 card for Hapi MkIII comes in two different versions, standard and premium. The standard version can operate at sample rates up to 192kHz and for anything higher, the premium model operates up to DXD/DSD256. This class leading card provides 8 channels of high quality analogue line out, boasting a noise floor of less than -125 dB.

Merging DA8V3 Features:

  • Auto-mute circuitry for “no-pop” power cycling
  • Digitally controlled trims for line up procedures
  • Dynamic range of 127dB (typ.)
  • Low Phase Noise Oscillator circuitry
  • Up to 192 kHz sample rate (DSD for the DA8V3P)
  • Available in models that work up to 192kHz (DA8V3S) and DXD/DSD256 (DA8V3P).

Compatibility With Hapi
All analogue I/O V3 cards are compatible with the Hapi MkIII and the Hapi MkII, but not compatible with the Horus or original Hapi.

Design
As was proven in numerous tests, the DA8V3 card is the quietest multichannel D/A converter available on the market. Its impressive specifications include a typical dynamic range of 124 dB (> 126 dB A-weighted) and THD+N below -115 dB for the standard card and a typical dynamic range of 125 dB (> 128 dB A-weighted) and THD+N below -116 dB for the premium card.

Low Phase Noise Oscillator circuitry has been added to further improve the absolute transparency and stereo image of an analogue signal, effectively void of both jitter and wander.

Additionally, the DA8V3P incorporates an analogue mute circuitry that provides protection against spurious transients occurring during sample rate changes and power cycling “clicks” and “pops”, which can damage not only speakers but also the listener’s ears.
