Neve 8424E Console

The Neve 8424E is the 8424 console built around Neve Elements. The desk itself is unchanged: 24 channels, four mono groups, 48 inputs at mixdown and a Marinair transformer-coupled stereo mix bus taken from the 80-series. What the E adds is the control layer — an E-Controller and an Elements Upstand Screen, so every Elements EQ and dynamics unit in your racks can be reached from the mixing position, with the settings recalled with the session.

Two 1073 preamps sit in the centre section with their own I/O and Smart Routing, alongside two Class A DI inputs and two VPR 500-series slots. Add up to three 1073OPX units and every channel on the desk gets its own dedicated 1073 preamp, for up to 26 preamps in total. Elements units are not included with the console, so you can specify the EQ and dynamics you actually need, in any combination of 88R EQ, 1084 EQ and 88R Dynamics. The 1073OPX is an optional add-on and is not included either.

If you already own an 8424, you do not have to replace it. Neve's upgrade path puts your existing desk at the centre of the same ecosystem.
