The LX480 Essentials is a streamlined version of Relab's LX480 reverb, built on the same sample-accurate algorithms as the full dual-engine version. It presents four reverb types — Plate, Hall, Ambience and Room — through a single panel with five controls, in the style of the original hardware remote.

The five parameters are reverb time, low frequency, high frequency, pre-delay and mix, each on a fader with a numeric readout. Plate is aimed at vocals and percussion, Hall at a smooth, even decay, Ambience at short room sounds and Room at coloured spaces that sit behind the source. Signature presets from mix engineers including Richard Furch and Joe Carrell are included.

Supplied as a digital download with a perpetual licence. After purchase the licence is deposited in your iLok account; authorisation can be to a local computer or to an iLok USB key (v2 or later). An iLok account, an internet connection and the current PACE drivers are needed to activate; no hardware dongle is required. Formats: AAX, AU, VST3 and VST (64-bit) on macOS 10.12 or later, and AAX, VST3 and VST (64-bit) on Windows 10 or later.
