Relab Q82 Natural Resonance Reverb - Dual-Engine Reverb Plugin

The Q82 is a dual-engine recreation of an early-1980s hardware reverb known for natural resonance and long decay times. Rather than deriving its reverb from reflection times alone, it uses resonators to model how sound behaves travelling through air, which is what gives the result its sense of a real room behind the source.

Two engines run in parallel: a reverb engine and an enhancement engine, each with its own set of outputs, so width and front-to-back depth can be adjusted independently. Seven room sizes run from 1 to 1,000,000 cubic metres, with an adjustable first reflection. Eight-voice hand-tuned modulation adds density, and bandwidth control spans 4 kHz to 16 kHz in place of a plain low-pass filter. Two algorithm variants are available — a factory-spec German unit and a time-worn US unit — and the Temperature control moves between a cold start and a unit left running for days.
