Waves PuigTec EQs - EQP1A and MEQ5 Tube EQ Plugins

Waves PuigTec EQs - EQP1A and MEQ5 Tube EQ Plugins

Waves PuigTec EQs model two classic passive valve equalisers from the collection of Grammy-winning producer and engineer Jack Joseph Puig. The pair are known for gentle, musical tone shaping and have been used on vocals, bass, guitars and whole mixes for decades, in both mixing and mastering.

The EQP1A handles the low and high frequencies, with separate boost and attenuation at four low frequencies, high boost at seven frequencies with a bandwidth control, and three high-cut settings. Boosting and cutting the same low frequency at once gives the well-known resonant low shelf for tight, weighty bass and kick. The MEQ5 covers the midrange, with low-mid boost at five frequencies, a mid dip at eleven and high-mid boost at five, for adding body or presence to voices, acoustic instruments and keys.

• Modelled on Jack Joseph Puig's own passive valve EQs
• EQP1A low and high band equaliser
• Simultaneous low boost and cut for the classic resonant low shelf
• MEQ5 three-band midrange equaliser
• Gentle, musical tone shaping for mixing and mastering
• Analogue valve colour and passive EQ behaviour
