Waves VU Meter - Analogue VU Metering Plugin

Waves VU Meter brings the industry's classic metering method to your DAW. Digital meters show peaks well, but the ballistics of an analogue VU needle reflect the average signal level, which relates much more closely to how we hear musical energy.

Waves focused on mechanical realism to create an accurate software emulation of the VU meter, helping you set healthy levels and headroom while tracking and mixing. It uses negligible CPU, so you can put one on every channel.

  • Accurate emulation of analogue VU needle ballistics
  • Shows average level, smoother than jittery DAW meters
  • LED-style clip indicator
  • Calibrate headroom to your DAW's reference level
  • Small, medium or large stereo meter sizes
  • Negligible CPU use for metering every channel

Supplied as a digital download with a perpetual licence. After purchase you receive a Waves serial number to register to your Waves account; the plugins are then installed and activated with the free Waves Central application, either to your computer or to an exFAT-formatted USB flash drive, one device at a time. A Waves account and an internet connection are needed to activate; no hardware dongle is required. Formats: AAX Native, AudioSuite, AU and VST3 (64-bit) on macOS Sonoma 14 or later, and AAX Native, AudioSuite and VST3 (64-bit) on Windows 10 (64-bit) or Windows 11. Intel and Apple silicon Macs and x64 Intel or AMD PCs are supported; 16 GB RAM is recommended.
